Do you have any wooden equipment in your play area?
Does your wooden equipment have any signs of rot/decay?
Is your wooden equipment old, has frequent usage or situated in a damp/wet environment?
We use an advanced piece of equipment called a micro-drill that feeds a needle into an item of wooden equipment that measures the resistance of the wood which gives us an indication of how badly decayed the item is. Not only can we detect rot/decay on the wooden items above ground we can also tell you what is going on underground or let you know that the item has come to its end of life and needs removing. All drillings produce a detailed colour coded graph of the item, readings are recorded via bluetooth and saved onto a laptop which is the converted into a PDF as shown below...
The micro-drill has two motors, one drills the hole 1.5mm in diameter and the second one drives the measuring needle into the wood. All testing done with this equipment is considered marginally intrusive with the wood chips remaining in the boring channel sealing the drilling hole.
We can test any wooden items you have up to 400mm such as ;
